The annual Musical Youths Fiesta (MYFI), organised by the senator representing Lagos Central District, Mrs.  Oluremi Tinubu, held yesterday at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island.
With the theme: “Sacrifice of Praise”, this year’s edition had in attendance thousands of youths.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Obafemi Hamzat joined other dignitaries to witness the yearly event.
They attended in the company of their spouses – Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu and Oluremi Hamzat.
MYFI had, since 2011 served as a platform for the youths, to pull their resources and talents together in order to help set the pace and chart a way forward for other youths in the country.
According to the convener, the Ninth edition of MYFI was borne out of our concern for the state of our nation, stating that all hands must be on deck. “We all, including the youths, have a role to play,” she made it know.
On the significance of praise in the polity, Dr Sanwo-Olu, restated the governor’s commitment towards education and youth development.
According to her, “Over the years, Lagos State government had invested massively in the education sector to boost the economy; this is because the government knows the potential and importance of education of our children. Education still remains the passport for tomorrow to those who prepare for it today. But even in the midst of learning, there should also be avenues to showcase talents, like what we’re doing today”.
