The number of Nigerians who have taken part in the NYSC scheme since it was created several years ago, has been revealed.
The Director -General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim has said about 4.6 million Nigerians have so far participated in the scheme, The Nation reports.
He said this at an ongoing media parley with editors and reporters covering the organisation in Abuja.
The Director - General said the scheme, since its inception, has continued to contribute to national development.
The scheme was established in May 1973 by former Head of State, Gen Yakubu Gowon (retd).
