President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the June 12th bill into law. President Buhari assented to the Public Holiday Amendment Act, declaring that June 12 of every year as been named public holiday and Democracy Day.


This was confirmed by PMB’s Special Assistant on National Assembly matters, Senator Ita Enang, when he told state house correspondents that with the assent to the amendment, May 29th will no longer be a public holiday.
